Using a Himalayan Salt Cooking Plate Safely

Salt cooking plates need a gradual approach to heating and cooling to avoid cracking.

A Himalayan salt cooking plate can be a striking way to grill or sear food, but because it's a natural mineral slab, it needs a gradual approach to temperature changes.

Start by warming the plate slowly, increasing heat in stages rather than placing it directly onto a high flame.

Once you're done cooking, allow the plate to cool completely before washing — sudden temperature shifts are the most common cause of cracking.

Hand wash only, without soap, and dry the plate fully before storing it in a dry place.
